Terms of use

Last updated October 29, 2026

These terms are the agreement between Dawam and the businesses that use it, and the people who use it for them. By creating a business account, accepting a scheduler invite or signing in as an employee, you agree to them.

The service

Dawam helps a business schedule shifts, let employees clock in and out from their phones, and keep track of hours. It is a record-keeping tool. Location checks depend on the phone's GPS, which can be wrong or unavailable, so they can miss things; the business decides what the records mean for pay and attendance.

The business's responsibilities

  • Keeping what it records accurate, and telling its employees that Dawam records the time and location when they clock in and out, with their permission where the law requires it.
  • Deciding who gets added as an employee or invited as a scheduler, and removing access when someone leaves.
  • Keeping passwords and PINs private. Everything done from an account counts as done by that person.
  • Checking hours before using them for pay, and downloading backups regularly and keeping them safe.
  • Following the employment, privacy and tax rules that apply to it.

Employees' responsibilities

  • Using only your own phone number and PIN, and not sharing them.
  • Clocking in and out yourself, at the workplace, and not trying to fake your location or the time.

Fair use

  • Use Dawam only for scheduling and timekeeping for a real business.
  • Don't try to reach another business's information, get around the access rules, or overload the service.
  • Don't store anything unlawful or that you don't have the right to store.

The business's data

The business's records belong to the business. We handle them as described on the Privacy page, and the owner can download all of them at any time.

Availability

We work to keep Dawam running and its data safe, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable or never have a fault, especially during the pilot. Clock-ins made without internet are saved on the phone and sent later, but a phone that is lost or reset before it reconnects can lose them. Keep regular backups, and have a fallback (such as a paper sign-in sheet) for days when things go wrong.

Fees

Any fees are agreed in writing with the business before they are charged.

Limits of responsibility

Dawam is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for pay or employment decisions based on its records, for losses caused by information entered incorrectly or by faulty phone locations, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Ending and changes

A business can stop using Dawam at any time and take its backup with it. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after warning the business where possible.

If these terms change, we'll update this page and tell business owners before important changes take effect.
